Well hello friends. It’s hard to believe that 2018 is coming to a close. Tomorrow is the start of a new year. With that, many people find themselves trying to start a new season of life. It’s a chance for new beginnings, new habits, new promises. We reflect on the happenings of the past year, and decide what needs to continue to move forward, and what needs to change. For me, one of the things I’m most looking forward to is deciding what needs to stay in my closet, and what needs to go. Anyone else?
While I do need to sort through my closet, I also have some areas of my life that need some reordering. I have some habits I need to break, new habits I need to start. I have some areas of my life that need to be refined and improved. Don’t we all?
This year, my word for the year is VICTORY. Specifically, victory in Christ. I know good and well that I am completely incapable of making these changes on my own. This year, I’m proclaiming Christ’s victory in several areas of my life.
*victory in ending some bad habits
*victory in my health
*victory in my parenting
*victory in relationships
*victory in my homemaking
*victory in my routines and rhythms
*victory in boldly stepping out where God has called me
In some areas, victory may look like accomplishing a task or achieving a specific goal. More often though, victory looks like taking the next right step. It’s a daily forward movement toward Christ. It’s a reliance on His victory. It’s recognizing that I cannot do it on my own, and taking the step back to give Jesus the room to move.
Yall… I’m excited. I’m excited to see how God moves this year. To start it off, here is the first #writetheword plan for 2019! And it’s all about VICTORY in Christ!
